With the ageing process we develop fine lines and wrinkles. The earlier this treatment is started, the less likely these wrinkles will form over time as we aim to relax the muscle activity which would usually lead to wrinkle formation through continued movement. The wrinkles we produce with certain facial movements are known as dynamic lines, and the wrinkles found on our faces at rest are known as resting lines. The aim is to reduce formation of dynamic lines which in turn reduces the formation of resting lines. It is recommended to start this treatment early to reduce the effect of these muscles on the skin over a period of time.

The substance is a purified neurotoxin which is isolated from the bacteria Clostridium Botulinum. It works by temporarily reducing signals to the muscles injected which reduces their movement. We use only clinical grade cosmetic products which have been purified for safety and efficacy. Over a period of months the body will naturally break down the substance leading to a restoration in usual muscle function. During this period the skin has an opportunity to relax which over time and with repeated injections will lead to fading of wrinkles.

This involves injections delivered with expertise by Dr Shakeel into targeted areas using a micro-needle. It is not usually painful however there may be some mild discomfort, and the procedure is typically completed within 15 minutes.

You can usually expect results within 3-7 days and they can last anywhere from between 3-6 months dependent on the area injected. Occasionally you may need a top up within 1 month which Dr Shakeel will do free of charge if deemed necessary.

Avoid touching, makeup, massage of treatment areas for 12 hours, exercise for 24 hours, sun exposure/heat (saunas, steam rooms) for 48 hours, and alcohol for 24 hours.

Immediately after the procedure there may be some discomfort, bruising and redness in the treated areas which can persist for up to 72 hours. More rarely some people can develop a headache which typically resolves within 48 hours.

Forehead Lines-Wrinkles or lines that develop across the forehead

Frown Lines- Wrinkles or lines that develop between the eyebrows centrally

Crows Feet- Wrinkles or lines that develop at the outer corners of the eyes

Jawline Slimming- Relaxation of the muscles of the jaw which can create a slimmer and more contoured look

Bunny Lines- Wrinkles or lines that develop on the nose, typically visible when scrunching the nose

Pebbled Chin- An irregular or bumpy looking texture of the skin on the chin

Gummy Smile- Excessive appearance of the gums when smiling which can be corrected to reveal more teeth and less of the gums

Lip Lines- Wrinkles or lines which develop above the upper lip, also known as smokers lines

Lip Flip- Injections into this area can sightly enhance the appearance of the upper lip by flipping out the upper lip border

Drooping Mouth Corners- The downward sagging and creases at the mouth corners can be corrected to create a lift and produce a more youthful look
